The English noun people (singular "person") refers to a plurality of human beings. It has two usages:

Because the word people often refers to abstract and general types of groups, the word persons is sometimes used in place of people, especially when it would be ambiguous with its collective sense (e.g. missing persons instead of people). It can collectively refer to all humans or it can be used to identify a certain ethnic or religious group. For example, "people of color" is a phrase used in North America to describe non-whites.

What percentage of the people in the world are good caring people?
Q. What percentage of people do you think are good people, people who dont live their life only to please themselves at the risk of hurting others, people who who would risk their own saftey to help another? People you can trust. I feel this number is lowering every year, my estimate is under 20%, possible 10%. Whats your opinions?

Why some people start to giggle when they see people of opposite sex naked?
Q. This never happened to me. Since I was a kid I have seen people of the opposite sex naked of all ages but never happened to me to giggle or to laugh because of that. Are people who laugh when they see people of opposite sex naked possesed of a demon? Or why do they do that?

A. It's a nervous response -- a way to react when the proper way is unknown to the giggler. Most will improve with patient instruction and the opportunity to become comfortable with whatever had previously caused the giggling.

How do some people get to be fortunate enough to have work @ home jobs, & they don't help others get them?
Q. I mean, even if it ISN'T a home-based business. I hear how some people work @ home. How can some people be lucky like that if 97% of work @ home offers are scams? & for people who ARE successfully working from home, how come you can't tell anyone what you do & how you get access to such good job? I thought with business, you're supposed to recruit people & help them, too.

A. Because nobody actually has those work-at-home jobs, and legitimate business owners want their staff to show up to the workplace every day. The few people who do really work at home aren't just cruising the internet spamming message boards and posting AdWords. They're typing legal documents as a transcriptionist or paralegal, running their own home-based technical business or consultancy, or being brokers, bakers, etc. They have no use for a faraway home-based staff member who they're never going to meet.

  • A person is smart. People are dumb, panicky, dangerous animals, and you know it.
  • Show me a man or a woman alone and I'll show you a saint. Give me two and they'll fall in love. Give me three and they'll invent the charming thing we call 'society'. Give me four and they'll build a pyramid. Give me five and they'll make one an outcast. Give me six and they'll reinvent prejudice. Give me seven and in seven years they'll reinvent warfare. Man may have been made in the image of God, but human society was made in the image of His opposite number, and is always trying to get back home.
