How does wave collapse apply to our own bodies?
Q. So an electron can be in a superposition until it is observed. First, what about the observation causes the collapse and second how does that apply to the particles in ourselves? Is it related to conscious? If so do particles in our body enter superposition when we are not conscious and not being observed by another entity?

A. I'm not sure about consciousness, but your question is really the Many-Words interpretation of Quantum Mechanics. Since electrons can be in a superposition of states and we are made up of electrons (as well as protons and neutrons) why not extrapolate this superposition to what we may initially consider non-quantum objects, i.e. Ourselves, the world, the universe. What is this conspiracy theory all about relating to the collapse of the smaller 3rd tower on 09/11?
Q. Here in Britain the collapse of a third tower on that day wasn't even reported to my knowledge, it's news to me.

A. On that day, my niece who worked for Merrill Lynch was in the Financial Center right across the street from the Twin Towers. I was incredibly upset already. Then I found out that she was not scheduled to work that day, but went there to get her laptop anyway. The most frightening thing was the knowledge that she could have been injured or killed. The subway system had a stop right under those towers. This would have been the route that she would have traveled. Thank God she didn't tarry and was fine. She even described the Brooklyn Bridge and how top heavy it was, because too much foot traffic had overwhelmed it. Since then, she took employment elsewhere and with lower pay. She didn't want to be near that horrible scene. Peace!

How would the Federal Reserve react to a dollar collapse??
Q. I have a simulation activity for my International Political Economy course tomarrow in which we will simulate a economic crisis such as a dollar collapse. I have been given the position of Ben Bernanke so i have big shoes to fill. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. I have a general idea of what they would do- such as raise the interest rate and reduce the money supply, but i will take all the advice i can get...Thanks!

A. As an investor, there are some nuances that may be beneficial to your study, but you already are aware of the general procedure. Sometimes the Federal Reserve is still pressured to lower interest rates despite a falling dollar. This has been happing in Q1 2008. Sometimes, in order to help the dollar and continue to lower the interest rate, the Fed may lower the rate less than what the market expects (i.e. lower the rate 1.75% instead of an expected 2%). This is a confidence ploy designed to encourage investors to act as if life were not so bad. This helps in the short term, but lowering interest rates does encourage inflation in the long run, offsetting these effects.
