Freedom of thought (also called freedom of conscience and freedom of ideas) is the freedom of an individual to hold or consider a fact, viewpoint, or thought, independent of others' viewpoints. It is different from and not to be confused with the concept of freedom of expression.

What could the education or media do in Iraq to influence freedom of thought?
Q. Add To Think tank on Progression of...The Seeds Of Freedom...1-2-3-4 1. Freedom of thought, 2. Equality Among Men, 3. Equality of Women, 4. Popular Involvement in Self-Government Please just reply with IDEAS...not 'nay-saying.' (Who would have thought US could have become independent from Britain?) NOT our internal debates...theirs! Freedom of thought is SO new there, they don't even HAVE any debates.

A. Conservatives will make fun of liberals say. Liberals want to make conservative thought and words a crime. You can take a brief survey of yahoo answers. people on the left despise Rush and Anne Coulter. The Left wants them silenced. Compare them with Liberal pundents. Most conservatives just beat them up with things like the Constitution. There is more mockery than hate

If freedom of thought is virtually a sin, wouldn't that repress the imagination?
Q. I'm posting this as a Part II to a previous question (What constitues a sin in terms of thought?). Many responded basically that the creation of stories in my mind may be sinful, but is less sinful then the prospect of them turning to a sexual nature. However, isn't it natural for thoughts to often turn sexual? Especially when you are at your peek of sexaul curiousity (i.e. adolescence)? And if these thoughts were to be stiffled, wouldn't that supress the developement of my creativity?

A. May I kindly say no. Food for thought. All things are permissible , but not all things are beneficial. How would suppression of sexual creativity affect your creativity it designing a car, a building, a novel, etc, etc, etc. Your agenda removes any credibility you may have had. Normally I just answer questions of this caliber with, " and the dish ran away with the spoon ".

A. NO. But the American ego will force it into existence. The American ego is so far out of control we are so blinded we can consider nothing else but replacing what once fell. I say humble yourself and let the fallen towers be fallen, and move on. But everyone (at least the egotistical ones) will call me un-American which I am far from.
